Using only the libpq bindings in with the binary library is awesome. You're more powerful than with , and closer to the binary data representation. Overall, it's easier to use, and to maintain.

Combined with a great feeling while programming in .

After years working with Python, I'm astonished to observe I am more efficient with , just after ~6months learning this language.

Let's try a little #introduction to start things off:

#hello, I'm Thomas.

Software dev currently particularly enamored with #Rust and #Haskell, trying to dive ever deeper into the functional and theoretical ends of the pool.

I want to start writing and talking about programming, so I'll try and use this as a little outlet to set me on the right path.

Keyboard customizer, Oxford comma proponent, and all-round good guy.

Maybe I'll actually manage to rack up some posts this time around?

Another excellent Monadic Warsaw #19
Great talk by Justin on PureScript

Piece of cake to implement a cache with for a website, with a STM TVar and HashMap. Performance greatly improved with (almost) no effort.

The Optics monad in Haskell are just Great! It's a blast to work with lenses/prisms with lens-aeson and aeson. And still in pure functional programming

Found after couple of hours that "SELECT my_func()" and "SELECT * FROM my_func()" differs. One is returning records as one column, the other multi columns.

A message from our Tech Team:

Many of #InfoSec folk here on #Fediverse have boosted and favourited our toot about Security Analyst position we have open -- thank you!

And yet we have not received a lot of applications so far.

Don't be shy. Don't let the Impostor Syndrome get to you. You don't need a diploma or dozens of certificates to apply. You won't be wasting our time.

We're hackers like you. We need you.

Some thread with for the API + other thread with Servant for the monitoring API (/metrics) + STM for the shared variables + = <3 I monitor my in live, do some async action, and it scales perfectly :)

Nice way of writing and teaching in the book "Haskell in Depth" by Vitaly Bragilevsky so far, at the edition .

@crodges @codesections I can totally recommend it. I've been using #haskell as my main programming language at work for about 5 years or so. Has been a great experience.

Hello the community o/
I'm Florian. I'm originally from Nantes (France), and I'm now based in .
I'm a SRE during the day, and learner during the night. I'm interested in (and all that goes around, like category theory), reading books, food, traveling, and (not football/soccer, foosball*!). I just changed my pseudo for F(log), which is my username 4 chars, but also quite nice as a function.

Functional Café is an instance for people interested in functional programming and languages.
