#LispMachine just got support for the new Trident T-2400 and T-4800 hard drives.
They are 8, respectively 16 times bigger than a standard Trident T-300. Get them free just by multiplying your cylinder and head values.
#LispM Revolution Gone Wild.
(yes, that is bigger than what the Hurd supports)
@amszmidt I just realised that there is apparently still development on hurd going on. It does appear that the lisp machines gets more progress.
@loke and you can run CADR on actual hardware… Hurd requires 32-bit PeeCee that are unobtanium. /snarky
@amszmidt yeah, the fact that they still haven't gotten it to work on 64-bit platforms after 20 years is quite remarkable.
@loke Lisp Machine might become 64-bit soon.
@amszmidt Really? Tell me more.
@loke we are pondering how to extend the CADR in various ways. One is 32-bit or 64-bit pointers and fixnums.. it would be incompatible with real CADR but who cares if one can have 32G of RAM.
