-5.0 introduced $EPOCHREALTIME, variable containing microseconds-precision unix epoch time in seconds in decimal floating point string representation.

In a decimal-point-comma locale, i found it containing a comma. Should it be like that? I want a period for scripts!

That'll fail of precision is increased (or decreased) though right? Also what if you take the timestamp when it's exactly xx.5 seconds? Will it fill in the zeroes at the end?

I'd argue that not localising this variable would be the correct thing to do. I'd even go as far as saying this is a bug. The purpose of this variable isn't for human consumption.
