COVID statistics

If you hear anyone say "the vaccine doesn't work, you can still get COVID", then show them this graph.

You might still get COVID, but you are much more likely to not have any serious effects.

The graph was snipped from the latest Singapore COVID situation update: moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/det

@loke People who say that also claim "it's fine as long as you don't die". Well I don't want to loose my sense of taste/smell either, I like cooking way too much for that.

COVID statistics

@loke what about long covid?

re: COVID statistics

@loke Some reports also indicate that fully vaccinated people are 30x less transmissable when they are infected, which pretty much squashes the R0 of every strain. Hence every person fully vaccinated is stopping it spread further.

re: COVID statistics

@chidgey yes, and I hope those numbers bear out. Singapore is aiming for 66% vaccination by national day, which is 9'th of August. I think their target is 80% total.

This means that we'll get good statistics telling us what the transmission is.

@loke My prejudice tells me that anyone claming the vaccines don't work won't understand those statistics ;)

@loke Any data for postcovid effects - in particular, blood clotting-related ones? :02lurk:
