GNU should make computers. Real computers, not refurbished Lenovos.

Both of those are very nice manufacturers with GNU Linux pre-installed on their hardware.

I mean something like a computer to GNU as the Surface Pro is to Microsoft or how the Mac is to Apple. Some "official" hardware would get fans more excited than a 3rd party manufacturer (not that that's a bad thing. I would just love to see a "GNU" logo on the back of my laptop, is all!)

What you're saying is that underuses it's capabilities?
IMO, they rather should run a program for the manufacturers — "GNU compatible" / "FSF approved" logos and free shout-out. — They already sort of do it.

Also that is an *excellent* idea! I think the most important piece of hardware to have a label like that is wireless adapters! It would be a breeze to just waltz through Best Buy, look at the box & say "Yep! I can use this" instead of having to write down every supported adapter on a piece of paper!
